The Honour Roll is an award and recognition mechanism to promote the values of IAOMAS as a whole and the characteristics that this organisation values.
This award should in no way impede on any one martial art system or detract from the skills that your instructor is attempting to develop in you. It can be used in complement to build up morale and awareness amongst your student body.
The Honour Roll 2007 honours outstanding individuals who uphold the highest ideals of IAOMAS, and who by virtue of their personalities are models for which all others in this organisation strive to emulate.
The theme for 2005 was friendship. The Honour Roll theme for 2007 is TENACITY.
IAOMAS is about 'bringing the world closer together,' but before we can do that we need to be able to face the challenges in our respective dojos. Hard training requires courage and determination. To persevere despite challenges and setbacks, AND THEN to see the bigger goal requires quiet strength - this is TENACITY.
Far beyond a measure of strength, tenacity allows martial artists to stay the course and to form character that others will never know. In upholding this trait, IAOMAS members worldwide acknowledge the tenacity of the few individuals who have pushed for IAOMAS to be formed and to be established. It recognises that tenacity is again needed to push for progress.
